Mistletoe is a woody shrub. Dioecious, slow growing, a deciduous evergreen with continuously growing branches and leaves. Unlike other plants Mistletoe grows throughout the winter months.

The mistletoe berry contains a living seed that has the beginnings of a new plant within its sticky flesh in something like the form of a green embryo. This needs light to survive and the transparent skin and protective flesh of the berry let the sunlight in.
